Privacy Policy
Our commitment
This campaign is built by and for autistic people. We know that autistic communities have historically had their data collected, shared, and used in ways that were not in their interests. We do not do that here. We collect only what we need to run this campaign. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with researchers, advertisers, or third parties without your explicit consent. Your presence in this community is not a data point for someone else’s purpose.
Plain language summary
We collect only what each form asks for, and only for that form’s purpose. Donations are processed by Stripe; we never see your card. Your account and sign in are run by Aurum Learn. If you join, you choose whether you are counted on the map, which only ever shows numbers for an area. If your organisation goes on the Commitment Register, the organisation, the person responsible and what it commits to are public; their email is not. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. You can ask us to see, correct or delete what we hold at any time by emailing hello@autisticprideday.org.
Who we are
This website is owned by Aurum Foundation Ltd (ABN 39 680 160 570), an Australian charity, and designed and built by Just Gold. Aurum Foundation is responsible for the personal information collected through it. Our website address is https://autisticprideday.org.
What we collect, and why
| When you | We collect | What it is used for | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact us | Your name, email, the topic and your message | Replying to you | Our team |
| Donate | Your name, email and the gift amount. Card details go to Stripe, never to us | Processing the gift and emailing your receipt | Our team and Stripe |
| Put an organisation on the Commitment Register | The organisation’s name, country, region, sector and website; the actions and commitment; the name, role and email of the person responsible | Reviewing and publishing the commitment, and asking for reports | Everyone, except the email, which only our team sees |
| Report against a commitment | The report and any evidence link | Reviewing and publishing it | Everyone, after review |
| Join the campaign | Your country and state or region, and optionally your town and postcode; the roles you choose; whether you are counted on the map; how often we contact you | Your campaign page, contacting you as you chose, and counts by area | You and our team. The public map shows only counts for an area, and any count under five as fewer than five |

| Add an event | The event details, the organiser and an email | Reviewing and listing the event | Everyone, after review, except the email |
| Nominate an organisation | The organisation, its country, an optional contact and reason, and your email unless you choose anonymous | Inviting the organisation and telling you what happened | Our team. We never tell the organisation who nominated it |
| Share your story | Your story, how you want it credited, where it may be used, and your email | Using the story only in the ways you chose | Our team, and the public only where you allowed it |
We never ask for a diagnosis or disability status to use anything on this site.
Your account
Signing in, your account and any learning, such as The Autistic Standard, are run by Aurum Learn, Aurum Foundation’s learning service, at autisticprideday.org/learn. It holds your email, name and display preferences, and uses Microsoft Entra External ID to send sign in codes. This website stores only an account reference next to your campaign details. Until each member moves across, the member area on our previous site (login, account and registration pages) keeps running, and its own login cookies apply there.
Cookies and your browser
We use no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Signing in sets a cookie from Aurum Learn that keeps you signed in. Your comfort settings (calm mode, text size and motion) are saved in your own browser and never sent to us. If we measure visits, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for marketing or research without your explicit consent. These services process it for us, only to run the site:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and the campaign database
- Microsoft 365, which sends and stores our email
- Stripe, which processes donations
- Aurum Learn, which runs accounts and learning
Some of these services store data outside Australia. Each is bound by its own privacy and security terms.
How long we keep it
We keep information while it is needed for the reason you gave it. Published commitments and reports stay on the Register as a public record, unless the organisation is taken off it. If you delete your campaign details from your settings, or your account is deleted in Aurum Learn, your location, roles, actions and saved plans are deleted. If you withdraw a story with the link we sent you, it is emptied from our records straight away.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Members can change or delete their campaign details at any time in their settings. These rights apply wherever you are. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988, and for people in the European Union, the GDPR.
If you are not happy with how we handled your information, tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
